The University Master in Mountain Area Management  is an official master's degree that proposes specialized training for university graduates. The students acquire the following competences and skills:

  • Realization and comprehension of specific analyses of the dynamics, potentialities and problems of mountain areas.
  • Preparation of proposals and organization of innovative initiatives of planning and management to achieve the sustainable development of these spaces, both from the public field and from private initiatives.

It is an innovative Master in its field of knowledge given that there is no formative offer directed specifically to the management of mountain areas in all the surroundings.

The master is a product of the collaboration of the Departments of Geography of five Catalan universities: Universitat de Lleida (coordinator), Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona, Universitat de Girona, Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Rovira i Virgili. This supposes a guarantee of quality given the long academic tradition and research expertise in topics of mountains and highlands.

The Master is semipresencial, so its  60 ECTS can be studied fulltime in 1 year or part time in 2 years.
